Apprenticeships
Why you should apply
Anathoth Community Garden is a church ministry positioned in the hub of the South’s “local, organic movement” and in proximity to Duke Divinity School. This nature and location provide apprentices with the unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals of regenerative agriculture and its place within the framework of Christian reconciliation and community development--not only in the garden and surrounding community, but also from leading practitioners and scholars! The program is designed as a curriculum-based, immersion experience for 3-4 college-age or older Christians interested in developing the horticultural and theological proficiency to lead related initiatives in their own communities.
How to apply
In 2012 the apprenticeship program will run from May through August. Admission will be rolling through February 15, 2012. Upon receiving your application and letter(s) of recommendation we will interview all qualified applicants over the phone. Click below to download the application. Full participation in all of the above opportunities
40+ hours/ week (Tuesday-Saturday) commitment throughout the months of May and August. Start dates, end dates and vacation dates are flexible in light of our goal for this to be a communal, immersion experience. In other words, if you know that will have to be in and out throughout the whole summer please understand that this will detract from everyone’s experience (including yours!) and do not apply.
