Dear garden members,

Elizabeth, the boys, and I are heading for the hills. After much prayer and deliberation over the past six months, we've decided to return to Elizabeth's family farm in Fairview, a small town near Asheville.
With my desire to do more writing, Elizabeth's desire to use her ministerial gifts, and our mothers who have offered free baby-sitting, we feel that this is a window of opportunity.

Dear Garden members,

1. In observance of Good Friday and Easter Saturday, we will not be hosting workdays on either of those days (4/10 or 4/11). You are still welcome to come to the garden, picnic, enjoy the birds and breeze, and spend time in God's lovely creation. We will resume workdays on Tues. April 14th 3-6pm. We will be resuming our Tues. evening potluck series starting at 6pm. Bring a dish to share, and remember to bring your own flatware and plates to cut down on waste.

2. As we mentioned in our recent newsletter, we are blessed to welcome a new face to our garden community: Isaac Hanto, son of Wren Blessing and John Hanto. If you would like to provide a meal for John and Wren, please contact Elizabeth Bahnson: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it 919-304-0688

3. Compost: we want your table scraps! If you're feeling so inclined, start saving your table scraps (no meat or bones) and ask a garden staff member where to dump them. Five gallon buckets work well for this. You'll be cutting down on landfill waste and also helping to close the fertility loop by returning to the soil that which was taken from the soil, thereby ensuring bountiful crops in future seasons.

blessings to you all during Holy Week,

Fred Bahnson
